The Academy Pathway

The Academy is a key part of the MKRUFC player pathway, offering a clear and supportive route from junior rugby into the senior game. Players work with experienced coaches who focus on skill development, teamwork, and game awareness, helping each young athlete progress at a pace that suits them. Training sessions combine technical development with physical conditioning and match understanding, creating a balanced programme that builds confidence and enjoyment.

The environment is welcoming and encouraging, with coaches placing a strong emphasis on respect, learning, and the positive values that underpin the sport. Players are supported both individually and as a group, building friendships and a strong sense of belonging within the club. As they mature, Academy players are gradually introduced to senior training sessions and club culture to ensure a smooth and positive progression.

The Academy also encourages responsibility, leadership, and personal growth on and off the pitch. Players are given opportunities to take ownership of their development, contribute to team culture, and gain experience that prepares them well for senior rugby and wider life.

Training Times

Academy training provides a structured and supportive environment that focuses on skill development, confidence building, and game understanding. Sessions are designed to challenge players appropriately for their age while ensuring enjoyment remains at the centre of everything we do.

Whether you are continuing your journey from Minis and Juniors or joining the club for the first time, you will be guided and supported every step of the way.
